Overview

Zdiewwe Gíhm was founded durring the early 13th century in summer of the year 1234, by Druiznies. The establishment of Zdiewwe Gíhm was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Druiznies struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Zdiewwe Gíhm as a prison colony.

Zdiewwe Gíhm was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Zdiewwe Gíhm is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Zdiewwe Gíhm is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of crampt packed earth streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a city of Zdiewwe Gíhm's size could have. The city's well-designed, yet cheep are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the citys defences.

A look around Zdiewwe Gíhm shows Zdiewwe Gíhm is little more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Zdiewwe Gíhm they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

Zdiewwe Gíhm's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is based upon new and innovative technologies of construction and the idea that form should follow function. It was an embrace of minimalism and a rejection of ornament. The style became characterized by an emphasis on volume, asymmetrical compositions, and minimal ornamentation..
